Trials to be selected for the Ross-Shire Cross Country Championships will take place on Monday at approximately 12 noon. The fastest 8 boys and girls will be selected for the race on the 3rd of March in Alness.
Can all athletes who wish to take part in the trials please be advised that it will be completed on grass and therefore spare clothes will be required. The course will be approximately 2km long. The trials are open for Primary 4-7s only.
A football league has been set up for pupils in Primary 4-7 to play in at break and lunch times at Craighill Primary School. Over 70 players have signed up to take part which has meant that there has been two leagues set up with four teams in each league. The top 2 from each league will advance to a Champions League style semi final and final.
However, the most important aspect of this is to improve and educate children on how to act appropriately on the football park. Players will have the opportunity to earn ‘Fair Play’ points as the season progresses and the top 2 teams with the most points will enter a ‘Fair Play Final’. There will also be individual awards for the players who earn the most points and they will enter the coveted Craighill Hall of Fame.
The dates for the finals will be up shortly with an opportunity for parents to come and watch and also take part in our ‘Fair Play Final’ if you wish!
This has been very successful at Bridgend Primary School and is in its fourth season there.
Running Club will restart on the 25th of January as I have Football Coaching after school this week and next.
Sorry for any inconvenience caused by this.
We will go to church today with primary 4 – 7 only. We will leave school at 10.30 and church should finish around 12.
Primary 1 – 3 will remain in school.
Please remember that the school will close for everyone at 1pm today. If you are worried about the weather and would like to collect your child earlier than this please let us know.
Have a lovely Christmas.
Ten pupils from Craighill, who have been training week in week out since August, were rewarded for their efforts with strong finishes at the Dingwall Cross Country recently. Craighill had 3 athletes finish in the top 10 which included a field over 70 in both races.
Once again the behaviour, attitude and effort from all pupils was exemplary. Thank you to all parents that were able to help with lifts and to Rebecca Nankivell for taking (excellent) photos!
There will be more races coming up in January and Running Club will continue to be on Wednesdays from 3.10-3.45. All pupils from P3-7 are welcome.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year when it comes.
